The menace of pirates is now a source of anxiety in the Leftarm Islands. The Talars whose Domains are not far from the sea decided to build watchtowers on the model presented here. They are very similar to the Marcher Barons' watchtowers which protect the High Marches against Praxian raiders.

In the Leftarm Islands, Talar Alamekeldech, called the Free Trader, promotes and assists trade as much as possible in his Domain. He had this market built to create a year-round place of exchange and trade. The statue just before the market represents him and animates twice a day to call for the opening and closing of the market.
